Horsetail and Ponytail Falls
The trailhead offers a spectacular vista of Horsetail Falls immediately from the parking lot. Our halfway point will reward with views of the more secluded Ponytail Falls.
Latourell Falls
Beautiful vistas of Latourell falls from every angle. Lush, green forest and seasonal wildflowers.
Wahclella Falls
Wahclella Falls is one of the more spectacular waterfalls in the gorge-a 120-foot, two-tiered plunge with the final 60-foot section dropping into an enormous splash pool. Also worthy of mention are the house-sized boulders left behind by a 1973 landslide, and watch for spawning salmon in Tanner Creek during late fall.
Punchbowl Falls
Eagle Creek Trail to Punchbowl falls and beyond is one of the most popular trails in all of the Columbia River Gorge. Only two miles from the trailhead, the Punchbowl fall spills water 25 feet into a blue-green pool set in a large grotto.
Elowah Falls
Here is a hiker’s paradise with a gentle trail that permits access to one of the most beautiful and secluded waterfalls in the Columbia River Gorge.The view of the falls and way the tall cliffs jut out at odd angles is amazing from the bottom of the trail. The easy access and accompanying scenery of this area offer some of the best hiking and viewing opportunities available in the Gorge.
Bridal Veil Falls and Overlook
This walk offers something for everyone…It is two attractions combined into one hike! Bridal Veil falls is popular and picturesque, and the overlook trail offers some of the most amazing vantage points in the west end of the Gorge.
Dry Creek Falls
Hardy/Rodney Falls and Pool of the Winds
Hardy Falls and Rodney Falls are small but scenic waterfalls in Beacon Rock State Park. A short trail leads to Pool of the Winds, a viewpoint where visitors can stand close to Rodney Falls as wind and mist swirl through the narrow rock walls. Falls Creek Falls
Falls Creek Falls is a dramatic multi-tiered waterfall in the forested mountains north of the Columbia River Gorge. Water cascades about 335 feet down several basalt cliffs, creating one of the tallest and most impressive waterfalls in Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Panther Creek Falls
Panther Creek Falls is a stunning multi-tiered waterfall. Water cascades down several rocky steps through lush forest, creating one of the most photogenic waterfall scenes in the area. Catherine Creek
One of the prime locations for wildflower viewing on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge. The area’s basalt cliffs, oak woodlands, and sweeping meadows offer an amazing variety of flowers.
Tom McCall Point and Rowena Crest Overlook
This magnificent preserve is one of the premier wildflower viewing locations in the Columbia River Gorge. A vast variety of beautiful flowers offer a wide array of blooms through April, May, and June. Volunteer naturalists (arranged by The Nature Conservancy) are likely to be on site and available to answer questions.
